As an early adopter of RSS (also my initials), I’ve tried a lot such software over the years and currently QuiteRSS seems to be the best of the bunch. In this video I describe very quickly my (currently) favourite RSS reader. So a compromise might be to decentralise the subscription points, not entrusting or outsourcing them to companies like Google, Facebook, and Twitter. “Let’s bring back the Web to where it was more than 15 years ago (prior to ‘surveillance capitalism’ and companies such as Facebook and Twitter).”One solution to all this is decentralised Internet but that’s a step too far for many if not most people.
